Tham Bang Cave is extremely large as well as deep, with aheight of 100 meters ad with many small crevices and tunnels. In the middle of the cave, stands abig stone as even and flat as alarge table. Hanging down from the cave wall are stalactites in various figures of dragons, lions, phoenixes, elephants.
As parts of PaThom commune, the spectacular PaThom Cave (Hang Dong PaThom) is situated in the West of Dien Bien District, adjoining the border between Vietnam and Laos. Interestingly, the local people usually call the cave as “Tham Nang Lai†which means the Full-of-Fairies Cave in Vietnamese language.
